chilli plant in acorn pot

Acorn pot for chillies

Over the years we have successfully grown chilli plants in Acorn pots so we thought you might like to as well! Ideal if space is limited, this attractive pot will sit on a warm, sunny windowsill, in a greenhouse or in a conservatory.

Our lovely, unique Acorn pot is ideal for growing a single plant such as a chilli or a tumbling tomato. It has a vase tapered at the top and wider at its base, which is attached to a base reservoir. A capillary wick system is used to draw up water and nutrients from the large base reservoir into the vase of the pot.

The kit includes our own Gold hydroponic growing medium and specially formulated 3-part hydroponic nutrients, seeds and a minipropagator, together with full instructions for use.

Once you’ve propagated your seeds, all you need to do is simply fit the vase and base of the Acorn pot together.  You then fill the vase with Gold hydroponic growing medium and transplant your chilli plant seedling into the pot. Fill the reservoir with diluted feed and the capillary wick draws up the feed into the growing medium as it is needed.

If you don’t want to sow your own seeds, why not buy a young plant from your local garden centre and transfer it into the Acorn pot? You can easily transplant soil-grown plants by gently tapping off any excess compost or earth before potting into the Gold. We don’t recommend washing the compost off the roots – a small amount of it won’t affect its growth and washing may damage the plant’s roots.

Once you have harvested all your chillies, you can re-use this robust pot and Gold hydroponic growing medium.

We’re so sure that you’ll love the results that we also have a money-saving multipack containing 3 acorn pots, Gold hydroponic growing medium, a minipropagator, seeds, nutrients and full instructions for use.
