How to order
The quickest and easiest way to buy hydroponic growing kits, hydroponic nutrients, hydroponic growing media and other related items from Achiltibuie Garden is through our secure shopping cart, using your credit/debit card – it’s safe and very easy to use.

Buy online with confidence in our secure online shop
Due to the different number of browsers around, the “secure padlock” display varies, but should be visible once you reach the payment pages in our shop. The payment pages are not actually part of our site: they are controlled and hosted by Worldpay and are safe and secure. Pages are not secure until you reach the Worldpay payments pages, so you should not expect to see any indication of security until then. The easiest measure of whether a site is secure or not is to look at the address bar of the page you are viewing – normal addresses begin with “http://” while secure addresses begin with “https://” (note the ‘s’ after http, denoting secure).

We also accept orders by phone, or you may download and print a copy of the mail order form and price list from the website. Use the website to add products to your basket, then fill out the mail order form by copying product, price and delivery details from your completed basket. This will enable you to accurately calculate the delivery charge and apply any discount to which you are entitled. Once you’ve filled in the order form, you can send it to us by post. For post orders we accept payment by credit/debit card or cheque.

Delivery charges
At The Achiltibuie Garden our policy is to try to keep delivery charges to a minimum, but we are very much bound by what our carriers charge us. We have a sliding scale of charges rather than a single flat rate because we think this is a fairer system and it means that if you only order a few small, light items you’ll pay less for carriage.

The amount of carriage you pay for your order depends on its total weight. To help you see what the carriage charge will be, each product shows its weight beside the price. When you complete the checkout process online, your final carriage charge will be shown.

Carriage rates are:
Up to a total weight of 0.05 kg:  £1.50
0.06 – 0.49 kg:   £2.95
0.50 – 20.00 kg:   £5.95
20.00 – 49.00 kg:   £9.95
over 49 kg:   £19.95

Packing & sending orders

Once we have received your order we aim to pack and despatch it to you within 5 business days. Where possible we recycle packaging materials to send out orders, which helps keep our costs down.

Whilst we take care to pack our customers’ orders accurately and securely, occasionally breakages or omissions occur. We ask that customers notify us of any problems within 3 business days of receiving their orders. If you are not entirely happy with a product, please contact us to arrange return. All breakages and omissions must be notified within 3 working days of receipt.

The Achiltibuie Garden is based in the Highlands of Scotland and orders being sent to other areas of the Highlands are sent by local courier using a 24-hour service.   For the rest of the UK, small orders (under 2kg) are sent out by second class post from our local Post Office. If you would like us to send your order by First Class post, please contact us for a quote. Larger and heavier orders are sent by courier. If you would like to track your order once it has been despatched please contact us for the parcel reference number.

The above information and delivery charges apply to UK orders only. For sending outside the UK, carriage is charged at cost and the timescale depends on your location. Please contact us for a quote: you’ll be given prices for the various options available for sending to your country from which you can choose the one most suitable for you. Do bear in mind that some of our products are quite heavy and the carriage can sometimes cost more than the actual product.

If you are shopping from outside the UK, The Achiltibuie Garden regrets that we are not able to process your payment online. Details of your order will be sent directly to us and we will then contact you by email with quotes for the carriage charges. If you decide to proceed with your order, please contact us by telephone, fax or post with your credit card details. We strongly advise that you do not send even partial credit card details by normal email. We cannot accept responsibility if they are intercepted by a third party for fraudulent purposes. Once your payment has cleared into our bank account, we will despatch your order.

We regret that we are not able to accept credit card payment from non-UK customers for orders over £150. For large orders we accept payment by a bank draft in Sterling. Once this payment has cleared into our bank account, we will despatch your order.

Delivery times of international orders depends on your location. We will advise you of the timescale when we contact you to confirm shipping charges.
